FOR YOUR REVIEW: With this number I fell in love with Sarah Vaughan, I've Got the Right to Sing the Blues...since then it has been a happy marriage. What else can I say about a jazz vocalist who is in a league of her own? I know of few other artist that can equal her...Billie Holiday...Ella Fitzgerald...Dinah Washington... maybe one or two others...but really this woman stands alone as an American work of artistic art, nobody will ever equal her, nobody will ever surpass her...Sarah I'll love you until the day I die.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Itzhak Perlman & Oscar Peterson - Makin' Whoopee

FOR YOUR REVIEW: For me, nobody does Makin' Whoopee better than Louis Armstrong, but this version of the popular number by Izthak Perlman & Oscar Peterson is also a delight. The song appears in their joint CD entitled Side By Side.

Duke Ellington - In A Mellow Tone

FOR YOUR REVIEW: For the first jazz number to review I have chosen the Duke Ellington tune In A Mellow Tone from his 1956 Blues In Orbit CD. The number features one of my favorite saxophone players Johnny Hodges. It is a jazz piece I am very fond of.
